LOS ANGELES, CA – As the summer season nears, hip-hop artist Officially GP, also known as Get Paper, is set to release his next mixtape out of his preexisting repertoire of music. Officially GP hails from Cliffview, located in the east side of Cleveland, Ohio where hard work does not go unrecognized. Growing up in this particular community, GP witnessed unity within a poverty-stricken neighborhood, which in turn taught him how to survive at a young age. His mother and father both worked endlessly, therefore inspiring GP to never fall short in life and make his own path.
Growing up, GP was influenced by both local artists he was surrounded by as well as industry legends such as Tupac. Tupac stands out to GP in particular, as GP felt he really understood his struggles and appreciated his music for getting him through everyday life.
The independent artist began delving into music heavily in 2014. As music has always served a special place in his life, his desire was for his own music to deliver a message. In May 2016, he released his first mixtape with pioneer DJ Kayslay from what would later become a collective volume. Later in December 2016, he released his second mixtape, which was recently followed by his third with Kevin Gates. Working with Kevin Gates and DJ BWA Ron served as a big accomplishment for GP, as he finds it rare to meet people so down to earth in the industry. This self-acclaimed mixtape “LA7: Life After 7” caught the ear of many industry professionals, artists, companies and fans. GP will be releasing his highly anticipated mixtape “Dopepimpin”, hosted by Trapaholics, this June. The project will feature artists such as Yowda from Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, and continue to keep the ceaseless, musical momentum going for GP.
Currently, aside from his music, the artist enjoys interacting with his thousands of fans on social media, while traveling, and even in his community. As 2017 continues in success, his clothing line, Waraqatan, will debut this fall. He resides in Downtown Cleveland, but will never forget his roots as he incorporates them into his everyday life. Looking ahead, through his success as an artist, GP aspires to give back to his community and help build an economy in his neighborhood in which he grew up. Hip-hop music enthusiasts will not want to miss out on his upcoming mixtape, so make sure you follow him here:
