Tori Franco fuses soul of Timberlake with edge of Pink into something uniquely her own

LONG ISLAND, NY – If Justin Timberlake’s signature sound and Pink’s signature sound could ever be fused together, the result might sound something like one of the hottest new artists to come out of the Northeast.

Tori Franco blends a unique style of electro pop, soul and R&B into a sound that is uniquely her own. It’s a style that is garnering a lot of attention along the East Coast, and her most recent single “Keep You Forever” is getting tons of plays and downloads on iTunes and Soundcloud.

True to her unique sound, this single displays a fusion of pop and EDM in a way that’s very commercial and pleasing to the ear. The lyrics are also infinitely relate-able to a large audience in that they deal with the heartache of breakup and the journey through pain.

“It’s basically me talking to the person I broke up with, saying I wish I knew how to keep you forever and make it last,” Franco said. “When I write music it all comes from emotion – whether it be happy or sad or whatever. The best stuff comes through pain. Usually I’ll listen to new music first and get a feeling, and then come up with concepts that way.”

Franco said she’s always found a soul connection through music. As an androgynous female who often struggled with her identity in her teenage years, she said music helped her discover hidden passions inside and helped form a confidence that she now carries with her into her professional music career.

She said she realizes that most people who look at her outer appearance will expect to hear something completely different than the voice and sound that comes out of her. In fact, it’s that shock value that she’s most proud of because she said it makes her distinct and it allows her to speak to other young people just like her and inspire them to push through their own trials and tribulations.

“I want that to be inspiring for people,” she said of her identity and the message she sends to the world through her music. “I think it shows people – men and women who are androgynous – that they can overcome it and use it to their advantage and not be looked at as a freak. I want people to know that if I can do it, anybody can do it.”

And so she creates pop music with an edge. She emulates her favorite artist, Justin Timberlake, and nods to the original King of Pop, Michael Jackson. She embraces the rebellious persona of an artist such as Pink, and she puts all of those things together to create a sound that is uniquely her own and unlike anything else in the music industry today.

While fans can check out “Keep You Forever” on her Soundcloud page, she’s also close to finishing another single called “PurgaTori,” which she said is based off her journey through depression. She’s also working on completing an album that she hopes to release later this year.
